Lately every time the news is on there is a story about a hit and run. It seems like there are more and more. We hear about them but what are we doing to stop them. I propose that the city make more sidewalks and if make it so if a person hits someone and doesn’t realize that the person has the ability to turn themselves in within 3 hours of doing it without being punished. People may not realize they hit someone till later and the person may not want to go back because they are scared of being arrested. Maybe if we make if not so strict on those people that turn themselves in then maybe people will come back once they realize what they did in order to help the person.
This seems like this could be a very interesting topic. I really like the idea of creating more sidewalks. Maybe instead of your focus being on just hit and runs, you might think about pedestrian injuries/casualties of any kind. That might give you a little more material to work with and still allow you to discuss hit and runs if you would like. Let me know if you have any questions!
